Gov't strengthens 'hydrogen economy' roadmap Updated: 2021-10-07 14:16:33 KST

The South Korean government has announced plans to further advance its goal of building a so-called "hydrogen economy" by increasing its use of hydrogen as a power source.
At a groundbreaking ceremony held in Incheon Thursday at a complex for next-generation hydrogen fuel cells, the government said it plans for the country to have the capacity to use three.nine million tons by 2030.
In terms of hydrogen power usage, that would be 17-fold increase from the current level, which will help the growing industry overall, including in production and distribution.
