Seoul's nuke envoy says end-of-war declaration "most effective" way to build trust with N. Korea Updated: 2021-10-01 09:33:27 KST

South Korea's top nuclear envoy says declaring a formal end to the Korean War is the "most effective" way to build trust with the North.
Returning to Seoul after meeting his American counterpart Sung Kim in Jakarta, Noh Kyu-duk said they discussed the end-of-war declaration, recently proposed by President Moon Jae-in.
He also said they both agreed on the importance of a peaceful Korean Peninsula.
He added there are discussions about providing humanitarian aid to the North, perhaps through international organizations.
