South Korea's COVID-19 daily caseload for Thursday stands at 1,9-hundred-43, of which all but 22 were locally transmitted.
Authorities had hoped to keep the number down as much as possible ahead of the holiday season, and it did show a slight drop
This is a dip of 137 cases from 24 hours before and is down 106 compared to the same period last week.
One thing to note is that while the nationwide number went down Seoul City's number went up, with 717 of the local cases reported which is 56 more cases than last week showing the spread is becoming more pronounced in the capital.
A massive movement is expected to get underway starting Friday as the five-day weekend kicks off and much of the travel will be from Seoul to the rest of the country.
This has raised concerns with many experts who worry that the situation will only get worse after the holiday.
