2,552,000 doses of Moderna vaccines to arrive Monday afternoon Updated: 2021-09-06 09:57:53 KST

More than 2.5 million doses of Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine are set to arrive in the nation on Monday afternoon.
This is the biggest batch yet of the more than 7 million doses the company were set to supply by early September following its failure to deliver the promised amount in August.
This batch would mean more than 6.7 million doses have come since August 23rd falling just short of what was expected.
However, health authorities said on Sunday that with vaccines secured from other sources such as Pfizer as well as deals made with other countries there shouldn't be any supply issue that would prevent reaching the goal of administering first doses to 70-percent of the nation by the Chuseok Holiday which comes in late September.
