The daily caseload has consistently hovered around the 2-thousand mark at least for the mid-week tallies for a while now.

Mark, South Korea reported 1,9-hundred-61 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday of which all but 34 were locally transmitted.
As you mentioned, mid-week tallies are usually higher than other days of the week and have been hovering around 2-thousand for the past few weeks.
Thursday's number is up 79 cases from the same day last week, showing a slight increase.
And with such consistent high numbers of daily cases also came a rise in the number of deaths.
There were 11 additional deaths reported and currently 371 are in a critical condition.
This is South Korea's 58th consecutive day to report a four digit caseload.
