South Korea reported 143 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, a sharp rise from the day before.
Of those, 118 were domestic cases, and the rest were imported.
Most of the new cases were in Seoul and the surrounding Gyeonggi-do Province.
It's a sharp rise from the 89 cases the day before, despite less testing on the weekend.
A day before, South Korea adopted is lowest level of social distancing measures, level one.
Under those rules, people can go about their daily lives, required only to wear masks and practice social distancing at designated facilities.
