Today, May 23rd here in South Korea marks the 11th anniversary of former president Roh Moo-hyun's death.
Organized by the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, the memorial service to remember his legacy took place in his hometown, Bongha Village in Gyeongsangnam-do Province.
Roh served as the nation's president from 2003 to 2008.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, all attendees were required to wear masks and practice social distancing in a condensed version of the annual service.
President Moon Jae-in was not in attendance, but instead sent condolence flowers to pay tribute this year.
