Time now to get a check on the weather so let's go over to our Lee Seung-min at the Weather Center.
Seung-min, we're getting close to the end of May and a summer heatwave is slowly approaching the peninsula. Daytime highs hit 25 degrees in the capital today. So tell us what's in store for us this weekend?
Well, Conn-young, this heat is forecasted to continue. But it will ease temporarily as some brief rainfall is in store for us tonight. Rain clouds have started to form again on the west coast. Showers are in forecast starting tonight until early tomorrow morning in the Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon-do Province. There won't be much precipitationabout 5 to 10 mm, but there is a chance of thunder and lightning so please refrain from outdoor activities if possible.
After the brief showers, periodic clouds are expected for the weekend in the capital. On Sunday, rain is back in store for mid-western regions and in Jeollabuk-do Province.
For tomorrow morning, Seoul will start off warm at 15 degrees Celsius, Daegu at 12 and Busan at 14.
Daytime highs will be similar to today's with Seoul at 25 degrees, Daegu at 26 and Busan at 22.
For Korea's neighbors, Tokyo and Beijing will have rainy spells tomorrow, so for those in the area, make sure to grab an umbrella on your way out.
