The latest figures from Johns Hopkins University estimate that COVID-19 has now claimed more than 30-thousand lives around the world.
Italy accounts for one third of them, with more than 10-thousand deaths, followed by Spain and China.
More than two-thousand people have died in the U.S., and there are now 124-thousand people there infected.
President Trump has asked the CDC to issue a strong travel advisory for New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, where the infections are concentrated.
He had been considering a mandatory quarantine for those states, but later said that would not be necessary.
