Amid a decrease in spending due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the economic sentiment felt by self-employed people has worsened.
According to the Bank of Korea's Consumer Sentiment Index, the outlook for household income among the self-employed was down by 8 points on-month to 87 in February.
The reading is the lowest since the global financial crisis in March 2009 when the figure dropped to 79.
The CSI's outlook shows how people expect their household income to change after six months.
A figure below the benchmark 100 indicates that there are more pessimists than optimists.
