The World Health Organization will meet with a North Korean delegation in Geneva on Wednesday to discuss issues related to the coronavirus.
According to Michael Ryan, the head of the WHO emergencies program, North Korea doesn't necessarily have a problem with the virus, but he said his agency's priority is to provide protective equipment to the North.
Separately, UNICEF says it has sent supplies at North Korea's request.
UNICEF said previously that face masks and gloves had been requested by the regime along with Laos, Vietnam and Mongolia.
North Korea so far has reported no cases of the virus, but its poor medical infrastructure could make an outbreak there catastrophic.
