Bad fine dust levels in western regions on Friday, mild and wet Seollal Holiday Updated: 2020-01-23 16:27:28 KST

We're having a mild start to the holidays, and it looks to stay that way.

But it will be wet, so we might need to get our umbrellas ready. Let's connect to Natalie Seok to find out more details.

Yes, you're right. Tomorrow is the first day of the holidays. And the east coast will be the first to see rain or snow during the morning. On Saturday, the day of the Lunar New Year, the rain will start on Jeju island in the morning. And on Sunday, it will spread to the east coast and southern regions. By Monday, that rain will have made its way across the country. Also, Jeju and the south coast are set for lots of rain from Saturday.

Meanwhile, tomorrow, ultrafine dust will reach 'bad' levels in the capital area and Chungcheong and Jeolla provinces. Other areas will have 'normal' levels apart from western Gangwon-do province and Daegu which have 'bad' levels temporarily in the morning. So, don't forget to grab a mask if you're in these areas.

Checking out the readings in more detail, Seoul starts off the day at 0 degrees Celsius, Busan 7 and Jeju 9 degrees.

And the highs will stay mild during the day. The daytime high peaks at 9 in Seoul, 12 in Gyeongju and 14 in Busan.

We'll be able to see sunshine breaking out from behind the clouds tomorrow over most of the Korean Peninsula, while Jeju Island remains cloudy.

I'll leave you with the weather conditions around the world.
