China's Vice Premier Liu He will go to Washington next week to sign a "Phase One" trade deal with the U.S.
Beijing's commerce ministry says he will be there for three days from next Monday.
The ministry said both sides are communicating closely on how the signing will be set up.
This is China's first confirmation since President Trump said the deal would be signed on January 15th at the White House.
But Trump told reporters on Thursday that he might want to wait until after November's presidential election to go for a "Phase Two."
Taking some time, he said, could lead to a better deal.
