A Japanese chemical company exports hydrogen fluoride to S. Korea Updated: 2020-01-10 16:17:46 KST

After almost half a year of Tokyo's export curbs on Seoul, a Japanese company has shipped hydrogen fluoride, a key chemical in making semiconductors, to Korea.
Japan's Nikkei Shimbun reports that Osaka-based Morita Chemical Industries sent the shipment on Wednesday, following the Japanese government's approval.
Hydrogen fluoride was one of three key materials restricted by Japan.
Japanese authorities reportedly gave the firm the greenlight on Christmas Eve.
