U.S. defense chief Mark Esper says U.S. mulls forces overseas military deployments on routine basis Updated: 2019-12-10 08:49:09 KST

U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper reportedly mentioned South Korea during recent remarks about Washington considering, as a matter of routine, the issue of overseas military deployments.
That's according to the transcript of a conversation Esper had with journalists on a plane last Friday, which the Pentagon released on December 8th.
However, he didn't talk in depth about U.S. forces in South Korea.
Rather, it was brought up as Esper was explaining that Washington does not plan to deploy an additional 14-thousand troops to the Middle East, as reported by several U.S. media outlets.
