The Seoul Metropolitan Government has named 18 foreigners from 14 countries as honorary Seoul citizens.
These new Seoulites include people recognized for their charitable work, cultural contributions like books and music and more.
At the award ceremony on Wednesday, officials said the winners had done a great deal to connect Seoul with their home countries and increased awareness of multicultural families.
Mayor Park Won-soon said, Seoul will continue to work to improve foreign residents' livelihoods.
Seoul has awarded honorary citizenship to non-Koreans every year since 1958.
So far, 8-hundred-53 foreigners from almost a hundred countries have got the honor.
