S. Korean to raise concern at IMO over Japan's plan to release radioactive wastewater into the sea Updated: 2019-10-07 04:00:14 KST

South Korea is calling for global action against the Japanese government's reported plan to release radioactive wastewater from the Fukushima nuclear plant into the sea.
Seoul's Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries said Sunday that South Korea will raise the issue at a meeting of the International Maritime Organization in London this week.
It said Tokyo must come up with a safer plan.
The ministry also plans to cooperate with Greenpeace to submit a written inquiry to Japan regarding the matter.
