North Korea claims to have sucessfully test-fired a submarine-launched ballistic missile.
The regime's Korean Central News Agency reported Thursday that a "new type of SLBM" had been successfully launched on the day before.
It added the missile was launched at a high angle without revealing specific technical details.
Seoul's military said Wednesday a projectile believed to be an SLBM was launched towards the East Sea, travelling 450 kilometers, reaching a maximum altitude of 910 kilometers.
The launch marks the North's 11th weapons test of the year, and the first SLBM test since late 2016.
