Seoul plans to become 'global music city' by increasing music institutes, hosting festivals Updated: 2019-09-17 13:12:39 KST

The Korean capital Seoul is looking to become a global city of music.
The city plans to create four times the number of music institutes for the public by 2023 so that people can learn to play instruments and enjoy concerts closer to home.
The city will also put on six global music festivals each year.
Also, throughout the year, there'll be events such as the Seoul Drum Festival, the Indie Music Festival and Seoul Traditional Music Festival.
The first of these will be the Seoul Music Festival, held in and around Gwanghwamun Plaza from September 28th through October 6th.
