The U.S. is giving Chinese tech giant Huawei another 90 day to buy equipment from American companies and serve its existing customers before a ban takes effect.
Appearing on Fox Business Network on Monday, U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross announced the extension which would mean Huawei's "temporary general license," which was due to expire on Monday, will now end around November 19th.
However, that little carrot came with a stick -- Ross said the U.S. is also adding 46 Huawei affiliates to the trade ban.
Now, that brings the total number of Huawei affiliates covered by the restrictions to more than one-hundred.
Huawei called the move "politically motivated" and "unjust," saying it has nothing to do with U.S. national security.
