U.S. President Donald Trump has stressed he will NOT complete a trade deal with China unless Beijing returns to the terms negotiated earlier in the year.
He also told reporters on Tuesday that he was the one holding up the deal.
His comments came a day after he threatened to further raise tariffs on Chinese goods if President Xi Jinping doesn't sit down with him for talks during the G-20 summit in Osaka later this month.
Beijing said it's open to continued trade talks with Washington, adding it's not afraid to fight a trade war.
However, it remained silent on a possible meeting between Presidents Xi and Trump in Japan.
