Probation officers in S. Korea will monitor sex offenders around-the-clock on individual basis Updated: 2019-04-16 16:09:53 KST

A new law that allows police to monitor juvenile sex offenders around-the-clock is now in effect.
Ex-convicts deemed likely to reoffend will be under 24/7 police observation for at least six months.
The law was prompted by the Cho Doo-soon case in 2008 when Cho brutally raped a then-eight-year-old girl.
