A judge in Florida has blocked the state from enforcing bans or restrictions on abortion.
This follows the state's new law banning abortions after the 15th week of pregnancy, which was due to come into effect on July 1st.
Florida is one of many states looking to bring in new laws following the U.S. Supreme Court's overturning of Roe v Wade a week earlier.
However, a Tallahassee-based Circuit court judge said on Thursday that the state's new law is unconstitutional.
The judge made the decision following a petition from abortion rights groups meant to temporarily stop the ban.
For now abortion in Florida will remain legal until the 24th week of pregnancy.
More petitions have been filed in other states by abortion rights groups to try and halt the so-called "trigger laws" designed to come into effect when Roe v Wade was overturned.
