South Korea's National Security Councill has again expressed deep regret over North Korea's consecutive missile launches.
The NSC held an emergency meeting Friday shortly after Pyeongyang's launch to review the security situation and the country's defense readiness.
The members stressed that the series of missile launches are not helpful in terms of stabilizing the situation on the Korean Peninsula, and called on the North to respond to calls for dialogue.
The NSC said South Korea and the U.S. will analyze the specifics, and also keep close tabs on the situation.
President Moon Jae-in, meanwhile, has ordered National Security Advisor Suh Hoon to stay in Seoul and not accompany him on his overseas travel to the Middle East and Africa starting tomorrow to oversee the domestic security situation.
