Employment figures improved in South Korea with 680-thousand more jobs recorded in Q2 compared to the previous year.
Many came from the health and welfare sector, where the government has been providing extra funding to create more jobs.
Data from Statistics Korea shows that the 390-thousand jobs for those over the age of 60 accounts for more than half of the increase.
There were 17-thousand fewer jobs among those in their 30s but one agency official explained this was actually an increase compared to the previous quarter.
More jobs were created in the manufacturing industry.
That was not the case for the accommodation and restaurant sectors.
