South Korea's second-biggest carmaker Kia will only sell electric vehicles in European countries from 2035 and other major markets from 2040.
On Thursday, Kia announced their 2045 carbon neutrality strategy, paving the way for a transition away from fossil fuels.
In joining the global effort to fight climate change, Kia aims to reduce carbon emissions by 97% from 2019 levels by 2045, gradually phase out combustion engine cars from the global market and beef up its EV lineup.
