South Korea reported 1, 441 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday.
But worries remain over a rise in Delta cases and breakthrough infections.
According to health authorities, of the patients they've tested last week,
almost all of the variant cases were Delta.
They've identified close to 3,400 variant cases, and all but three of them were the highly contagious Delta strain.
Breakthrough infections are also rising as the country edges toward 70 percent fully-vaccinated.
In the first week of October, fully-vaccinated individuals made up a quarter of cases.
