While commenting on North Korea's missile test, Beijing also brought up South Korea's SLBM recent launch.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said Tuesday that China is aware of the North's test-fire of a possible submarine-launched ballistic missile.
But he said that China is also aware of the military movements on the Korean Peninsula, indirectly mentioning South Korea's test fire of a domestically-developed SLBM, which does not go against international law.
Experts say his remarks were made due to the security pact between Australia, the U.S. and the UK, known as AUCUS.
Wang also called for the relevant parties to remain restrained, and jointly promote political settlement on the Korean Peninsula while taking phased and synchronized actions.
