The U.S. Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines is reportedly visiting South Korea for three days starting Sunday in an apparent move to coordinate the two countries' policies on North Korea.
South Korean broadcaster YTN reports that Haines is expected to meet next Monday with senior South Korean officials, including National Intelligence Service chief Park Jie-won.
While here, she's also scheduled to visit the Yongsan Garrison, a U.S. military base in central Seoul, which is designated to be turned into a national park as the U.S. returns control of the base to South Korea in the coming years.
