It's the first day of the Chuseok holidays, and highways are already seeing major traffic.
The Korea Expressway corporation estimates more than 4.7 million cars to be on the road on Saturday, with most cars heading outside the Seoul capital region.
From this morning, massive traffic jams have been holding up the 40 kilometer stretch of the southbound lanes of the Gyeongbu Expressway, which links Seoul to Busan.
Seohaean Highway that heads to the southwestern port city of Mokpo, has also experienced cars lagging through a 24-kilometer stretch.
