Typhoon Chanthu to trigger strong winds and heavy rain to south and Jeju

Good morning. Southern regions have been feeling the impact of typhoon Chanthu that is near waters off Shanghai, and it will actually remain stagnant there through Thursday before approaching waters off Jeju by Friday morning, before passing Korea's south coast.
Jeju has been hit with strong gusts, and could see 50 to 70 millimeters of rain an hour. Rain and wind will only pick up as the day goes on.
Up to 300 millimeters of rain is in store on Jeju. Jeollanam-do Province could see 120 millimeters of downpours.
A heavy rain and strong wind watch is also in place on Jeju. Waters off the southern coast of Jeju Island are under a typhoon warning, weather alerts will be expanded as the conditions will get rougher as the day goes on.
Meanwhile, it looks to be a calm and hot day in the upper regions under sunny skies..with an expected high of 31 degrees Celsius in the capital.
