88% of S&P 500 companies posts earnings surprise during Q2

The second-quarter reporting season in the U.S. was stronger than expected despite concerns of a sluggish recovery due to the pandemic.
CNBC reports that so far, 88 percent of firms listed on the S&P 500 posted an earnings surprise during the April to June period.
According to FactSet, this is the highest percentage since the metric was first correlated in 2008.
The S&P 500 on Tuesday hit a record closing high of four,four-hundred-23.
