It has emerged that a South Korean student was the target of a racist attack in the southern French city of Montpellier this week.
A local newspaper reported that a 29-year-old was assaulted and stabbed by several teenagers in the city's downtown area on Tuesday night, local time.
They got into a scuffle after the teenagers made racist facial gestures.
The Korean man has demanded an apology from his attackers and was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
Three Albanian teenagers were arrested close to the scene and are being held in police custody.
Seoul's foreign ministry is seeking confirmation on the matter and will offer any help which the victim may need.
