South Korea's National Security Council says North Korea's series of missile launches is "very regrettable."
In an emergency meeting Monday, the NSC discussed the background and implications of the North's launch the fourth of its kind this year.
The NSC vowed close coordination between South Korea and the U.S. to analyze the specifics of the projectiles, and said it will work on necessary measures while closely monitoring the situation.
The members stressed that it is critical to resume talks so that tensions are not further raised on the Korean Penninsula and to restore stability.
President Moon Jae-in currently on a working visit to the UAE was immediately briefed on the North's launches, and he ordered National Security Advisor Suh Hoon to make the utmost efforts to manage the situation in a stable way.
