App developers using Google Play in South Korea will be able to direct consumers to other payment platforms starting December 18th.
Google Play has posted on its policy center website that it will allow users in the nation to have other payment options for in-app purchases.
The move comes as the National Assembly approved amendments to the Telecommunications Business Act in September.
The approved bill stops operators like Google and Apple from forcing software developers to use only their in-app payment systems.
