With more people watching TV shows and movies on their smartphones on platforms like Netflix Korea's wireless network has seen more than 10-thousand terabytes in video traffic for the first time in a single month.
According to the Ministry of Science and ICT, that was in September, and it was an increase of 8.3 percent from three months earlier.
Out of all network traffic, videos accounted for 61 percent.
The 10-thousand terabytes is around five times the video traffic in 2015.
It's not just TV shows, though experts say young people are increasingly using video platforms to find information rather than traditional search engines.
