Updated: 2021-09-30 09:53:24 KST
Seoul's chief nuclear negotiator Noh Kyu-duk will be sitting down in the coming hours with his U.S. counterpart Sung Kim in Jakarta.
They will be going over North Korea's recent missile launches and President Moon Jae-in's proposal of declaring a formal end to the Korean War.
Noh said he will have in-depth talks with the U.S. envoy on ways to improve the "current situation."
So far, South Korea and the U.S. have been mulling whether to provide the North with humanitarian aid.
They last met about two weeks ago in Tokyo and this meeting is happening in Jakarta as Sung Kim doubles as Washington's ambassador to Indonesia.
