The U.S. reiterated it has no hostile intent towards North Korea, calling on them once again to respond positively to their outreach for dialogue.
At a briefing Friday, State Department spokesperson Ned Price said the U.S.' goal remains the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and called for a calibrated, practical approach that is open to diplomacy with the regime.
He added the U.S. is prepared to meet the North without preconditions.
On Friday, the North Korean leader's sister Kim Yo-jong called for a retraction of what it calls a "hostile policy" toward the regime, adding it is willing to resume talks under such conditions.
She called President Moon's suggestion of an end-of-war declaration in his UN speech an "interesting" idea.
