As the Chuseok holiday is now over the temporarily eased measures are also coming to an end.
That means starting Friday the largest size of private gatherings allowed will be reduced from eight people to six people for distancing level four areas.
Of those six, at least two must be fully vaccinated, or four fully vaccinated if they meet after 6PM.
Visits to nursing care centers will be allowed until this Sunday.
Meanwhile, starting Thursday the island of Jeju will lower its social distancing measures to level three.
This for now will be effective until October 3rd.
The island had raised its distancing measures to the highest level four a month earlier in response to the growing number of infections with more people visiting the island for summer vacations.
