The nation's daily COVID-19 tally remains above 17-hundred.
Health authorities are concerned as fewer tests are conducted over the holiday and as numbers could spike after the Chuseok mass exodus, especially with some restrictions eased.
17-hundred-20 new cases were reported on Wednesday, including 17-hundred-3 local infections.
77 percent coming from the Seoul metropolitan area.
The total number of cases so far: 2-hundred-90-thousand,9-hundred-83.
Six more coronavirus deaths were added, raising the death toll to 24-hundred-19.
Special virus prevention efforts have been taken for Chuseok including makeshift test centers at major bus terminals and train stations.
In terms of the vaccination drive, some 36.5 million people, or 71.2 percent of the population, have received their first shots.
Around 43.2 percent are fully vaccinated.
