President Moon Jae-in will be leaving for New York on Sunday to attend the UN General Assembly.
First on his itinerary Monday, local time, Moon will give an address at the opening ceremony of the SDG Moment an event that seeks to highlight the urgent action needed to ensure that COVID-19 response and recovery efforts are inclusive and to accelerate the transition to sustainable development.
Moon will be joined by K-pop sensations BTS whom he recently appointed as South Korea's special envoys for future generations and culture.

The highlight will be Moon's UN General Assembly Address on Tuesday.
The top office says his final speech to the UN as president, will be focused on South Korea's vision and policies for inclusive recovery and overcoming the pandemic and highlighting the need for global solidarity.
He's also expected to call for global support and interest in Seoul's efforts for peace and denuclearization on the Peninsula especially as this year marks three decades since the two Koreas joined the UN.
Attention will be on his message for the North, given that the regime has escalated tensions with its recent missile launches.

On the sidelines, Moon is scheduled to hold talks with his counterparts from Slovenia and Vietnam on ways to boost cooperation, and he'll also meet with the UN Secretary General to discuss peace efforts on the Peninsula.
Moon will also sit down for talks with the CEO of U.S. drugmaker Pfizer and later attend a ceremony for a vaccine agreement between Seoul and Washington.
Moon also has an interview with ABC.

After wrapping up his schedule in New York, Moon will head to Hawaii to attend a ceremony for the transfer of the remains of South Korean and American troops killed in the Korean War, scheduled for Wednesday.
The Blue House says the event will reaffirm the strong Seoul-Washington alliance and demonstrate the administration's commitment to taking responsibility for those who sacrificed their lives for the country.
Moon will arrive back in Seoul on Thursday.
