The slow-moving typhoon, Chanthu, is beginning to gather more speed. It is forecast to pass over the southern coast of Jeju Island early tomorrow morning, and will exit through the Korean Strait during the night. The typhoon will get closer to Seogwipo city of Jeju Island at around 8 AM tomorrow, and will reach near Busan at 5 PM.
As the typhoon gets closer to our Peninsula, showers will get heavier, especially for the South. Until tomorrow, mountainous regions of Jeju Island will see up to 400 millimeters. The South Coast will see up to 120 millimeters. This midsized typhoon has already brought 700 millimeters of rainfall for Jeju Island, since the beginning of this week. Please continue to take extra precautions.
Violent winds will also follow. Winds will be gusting up to as fast as 30 to 40 meters per second for the South Coast and Jeju Island. This is strong enough to push trains out of the track.
Aside from Seoul and Chuncheon, rainy conditions will dominate for the morning. Seoul will start off at 19 degrees Celsius.
For the daytime, Seoul will get up to 27 degrees. Gwangju 28 degrees. Most of the rain is set to taper off by tomorrow evening.
That's all for now, and here are the weather conditions around the world.
