Conditions will stay relatively quiet for central inland regions, including here in the capital. But things will be a lot different across the South starting tonight, due to the indirect influence of Typhoon Chanthu. This typhoon is currently located near Shanghai, China and is forecast to reach waters off Jeju Island and the South Coast around Wednesday. Chanthu is still quite powerful, carrying a central atmospheric pressure of 955 hectopascals. Past typhoons of this level have turned vehicles on their sides and caused power outages.
Expect heavy downpours to batter the South until Wednesday. Jeju Island can expect up to 500 millimeters of rainfall. Coastal areas of Jeollanam-do Province will see 120 millimeters. Inland regions of the South can expect 10 to 40 millimeters. Vigorous winds will also follow, further adding to the inclement weather. Staying indoors would be recommended.
As for the readings tomorrow, Seoul and Daegu will start off at 20 degrees.
For the daytime, Seoul will get up to 30 degrees. Chuncheon 29. Gwangju 26. Jeju 27 degrees.
As the typhoon approaches closer to the Korean Peninsula, showers will spread nationwide by Friday.
That's all for now, and here are the weather conditions around the world.
