At a women's singles match on Saturday, the Korean table tennis player won against Catia Cristina Oliveira of Brazil three to one and advanced to the gold medal match.
The Korean team has secured 10 medals on Friday in table tennis with other players having advanced to the semifinals.
The Tokyo Games offers a bronze medal to each athlete who reaches the semifinals.
