South Korea's defense ministry says North Korea does appear to have developed miniaturized nuclear devices to "a considerable level."
The ministry's deputy spokesperson was asked about a Reuters report, citing confidential UN documents, that several countries believe Pyeongyang has developed mini-nukes to a degree that they can be mounted on ballistic missiles.
In addition to that assessment, the spokesperson said the South Korean military is monitoring the regime's nuclear activities closely along with the United States.
The UN report, according to Reuters, had one of the countries saying the regime might try to miniaturize the weapons further so it can develop multiple warhead systems.
