The World Health Organization has released new guidelines related to the transmission of COVID-19, acknowledging the possibility of aerosol transmission in some circumstances.
According to Reuters, the new guidelines suggest that airborne spread is possible in indoor crowded spaces such as choir practices, restaurants or fitness classes.
However, the WHO said more research needs to be done, insisting its previous stance that COVID-19 mainly spreads through contaminated surfaces or close contact with infected people who spread the virus through respiratory droplets.
