U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper has urged North Korean leader Kim Jong-un to exercise "restraint",.. after Kim threatened to reveal a "new strategic weapon".
In an interview with Fox News on Thursday,.. Esper noted that the best path forward is still a political agreement on denuclearizing North Korea, adding that Kim and his leadership team should return to the negotiating table.
However, Esper made clear that the U.S. military is ready to "fight tonight" if necessary, as he touted the military forces of U.S. and its allies, including South Korea.
