Negotiations between South Korea and the U.S. on the cost-sharing of American troops on the Korean Peninsula have come to an abrupt close.
The two day talks which began Monday were scheduled to last until this afternoon, but Seoul's foreign ministry said that the talks haven't been able proceed as initially planned.
It said that Washington was seeking a massive increase, while Seoul is unchanged in its stance that the figure must be fair and acceptable.
Since 1991, Seoul has shared the defense costs with the U.S. under the Special Measures Agreement.
We'll have more details in our later newscast.
