South Korea's professional football league, the K-league, was named as the world's sixth best elite football league in terms of social contribution.
Swiss sports consulting firm 'Responsiball' released its ranking of 24 international elite men's leagues that are putting in great efforts to make football more socially and environmentally friendly.
The K-league was ranked sixth, with Sweden's Allsvenskan topping the rankings, followed by Denmark's Superliga and England's Premier League.
The scoring was based on governance, community and environmental factors, such as youth systems, interaction with supporters, on-site waste disposal and minimizing carbon dioxide emissions.
South Korea's professional league scored particularly well for its strong community sector.
