Updated: 2019-07-31 16:37:40 KST
We're expected to see the so-called "Super Moon" twice next month, from August 1st to the 4th and August 30th to September 2nd.
The phenomenon takes place when the moon is closer to the Earth than usual.
Experts predict this will cause sea levels around the Korean Peninsula to rise to a nine-year high.
Therefore people near the shore are being advised to take caution at night and at dawn, when sea levels are at their highest.
Relevant alerts will be put in place if the levels get too high.
